This conference is aimed at health care professionals who deliver emergency care of heart attack patients including staff from the Scottish Ambulance Service, nurses, clinicians and managers.

On Friday 18th June 2010, the West of Scotland Heart & Lung Centre will host the inaugural conference at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital (GJNH) and the Beardmore Hotel & Conference Centre in Glasgow.

Speakers include

Faculty members will include Dr Hany Eteiba, Dr Brian O'Rourke, Dr Andrew Hannah, Dr John Irving, Dr Barry Vallance.

The speakers and programme content will deliver the best possible up-to-date information on the emergency treatment of heart attack patients.

With a mix of presentations, workshops and live demonstrations, it will also provide delegates with the opportunity to network with colleagues across different agencies and disciplines.

This conference will provide all delegates with information on how emergency heart attack care is provided at a regional level in Scotland, in the UK and abroad.

Dr Keith Oldroyd, GJNH

Keith Oldroyd led the introduction of the Optimal Reperfusion Service in the West of Scotland. He is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Clinical Director for Cardiology at the GJNH.

Dr Jim McLenachan, Consultant Cardiologist, Yorkshire Heart Centre and National Clinical Lead for Reperfusion Services in England and Wales.

Jim McLenachan trained in the West of Scotland. He is Clinical Director of Cardiology in the Yorkshire Heart Centre in Leeds General Infirmary. He has a senior role in cardiology practice in the UK and is National Clinical Lead for Reperfusion Services in England and Wales.

Mark Whitbread, Cardiac Lead, London Ambulance Service

Mark Whitbread joined the London Ambulance Service as Cardiac Care Manager in 1999. As Clinical Practice Manager he has lead the development of frontline ambulance cardiac care in London. He is a nominee for the NHS Change Leader of the Year.

Dr Andy Flapan, Consultant Cardiologist, Edinburgh Heart Centre.

Andy Flappin is Clinical Director and Consultant Cardiologist in the Edinburgh Heart Centre. Dr Flapan has lead the development of primary PCI in east central Scotland.

Dr Colin Berry, Consultant Cardiologist, GJNH

Colin Berry is a Consultant Cardiologist in the GJNH and works in the primary PCI team. He is also Academic Lead in the Cardiology Directorate at GJNH and Reader in Cardiology in the University of Glasgow. Dr Berry is co-organiser of this meeting.

Dr Mitchell Lindsay, Consultant Cardiologist, GJNH

Mitchell Lindsay is a Consultant Cardiologist in the GJNH and plays a leading role in the primary PCI team. He has a lead role in Audit in GJNH. Dr Lindsay is co-organiser of this meeting.

Dr Mark Petrie, Consultant Cardiologist, GJNH

Mark Petrie is a Consultant Cardiologist in the GJNH. In addition to his interest in coronary intervention, he is a Consultant in the Scottish National Advanced Heart Failure Service. Dr Petrie is co-organiser of this meeting
