Well it has been a few months now and I think it is safe to say I am well and truly settled into the office.  I came into the company just at the right time, we were quiet, events were a while away and I had time to get used to everything, now, and especially this week, it has been a little more...eventful.

Since the start of December they weeks have flew in, normally people wind down in the run up to Christmas but not Think Different!  On the 1st we had the official turn on of the Christmas lights, that day there was also the small matter of Think Different going Limited!! So us girls being girls just made it an excuse to have a little celebration and crack open the champagne that had been gifted to Jacky when he moved into the new office. The start of December was also the official start of my Modern Apprenticeship, I was introduced to the modules and the paperwork and now it is all go! December was a bit of a blur now thinking back, the weeks flew in and then before I knew it, it was the Christmas night out, and then the Christmas holidays.

January came sooner than I would have liked, those two weeks were the quickest of my life! But back to work bright and early ready to go... the BETT show was only a few weeks away, Again it was a strange month all a bit of a blur again. I was kept busy doing this and that helping everyone with whatever they may have needed an extra set of hands.  But that was all a false front.

The ACTS conference really swung into play last week, I have been working alongside Jill helping her with some of her admin work like making Badges and delegate packs.  That involved a lot of printing! This is the first event I have been more involved in, most others we never dealt with badges and packs, mainly speaker liaison.  So this week that’s what I have been focusing on.  Making badges can be a bit of a pain, especially when you think you have finished, then you get handed names of late sign ups, the you have the confusion of some people’s names, but I suppose that’s all part of the fun! No doubt I will get used to it in time.  I also never realised things had to be printed so last minute.  For all the information going into the delegate pack we had to wait until Thursday to start printing but thankfully we all mucked in and all the packs were made before 5pm and we could go home at our usual time.

Saturday morning was...different.  We had to be in Stirling Management Centre for 7.30AM. This meant it was a 5.30 rise to be up and ready to go.  When we reached the centre it was all go, We had speakers starting to arrive at 8.30 and had to set up the registration desk, find our way round all the rooms and just generally be organised. Without going into too much detail about the day, I really enjoyed it.  It was my first conference with Think Different Events and it was a success!  The musicians that were playing in the morning I take my hat off to. These guys must have been no older than 16 and they played brilliantly, no sheet music, Nothing!  I got a sneaky listen while I was putting notepads out on the seats in the hall they were warming up. So I think they deserve some recognition.

After the lovely lunch I felt the early morning catching up with me, and the hours seemed to get longer. Could also have something to do with the fact I knew I was missing the opening day of the RBS rugby 6 nations, Ireland vs Italy game.  But it all turned out to be good, it was put on in the bar area just around the corner from the help desk where I had been placed for the day.  All in all the conference went well and it was enjoyed by everyone.  Bring on the next one!!
