Think Different Business Banter - What they said

30 Aug
2010

The feedback we received from those who attended the launch of Think Different Business banter has been really positive.

For this week's event see here

 Alan Foster

Thought yesterday was well worthwhile and I particularly enjoyed the laid back, informal atmosphere. I was pushed for time yesterday so only managed to speak with a few people but I'll definitely try to increase my contact next time. - Alan Foster, Webmart

Abbie Murray

I really enjoyed the event yesterday and it was lovely to meet you. I'm relatively new to networking and have been at several different events in the last few months, I do feel they can be rather contrived and too in your face, as well as costly. The launch of the group yesterday in contrast was a refreshing change and I think the attendees were all on the same wavelength in that respect. - Abbie Murray, Neuvo

Convenient location, good mix of companies, excellent turn out for an informal gathering - Jacqui Wright, Commsfm

Mark Houston

Jacky, thanks for pulling this event together this morning. Been a while since I was out meeting people, so it was good to put some LinkedIn faces to names and meet up in person. Met some familiar faces too that I hadn't seen for a while. I liked the informality which was ideal for those new to the networking scene and thankfully most didn't try to sell to hard. I'd be happy to come along to futre Banter events. Cheers  - Mark Houston,Business Aftercare Adviser at Glasgow City Council (Secondment)

Sean Connaughton

Jacky, I fully agree with what mark has to say. I liked the informal set up and there was no hard sell, just like minded people chewing the fat over a cup of coffee and developing relationships, because that is what business is all about. PEOPLE. Cheers and hope to see everyone at future events. Sean Connaughton, Business Growth adviser at Business Gateway/ The GO Group

Ruth Maguire

They came! - Good turnout Martin, Had a great relaxed "network" spoke and listened to some interesting folk. Will be back next week. Thanks - Ruth Maguire, Ruth Maguire Reflexology

Catharine Graveson

Just back from the event great location good turnout and enjoyed meeting fellow members of the group. big hello to Ian Watson, Alan Foster, Paul Kelbie, Robert Greig, Ruth Maguire was nice meeting you all sorry for missing the others, but hope to catch up with you another time. Tommy Butler, New Media Entrepreneur, Online Expert

Tommy Butler

I couldn't agree more, Tommy. Well attended first meeting. Hello to everyone I managed to meet. Apologies to all the others. If you didn't manage to say hello then please connect with me. As I said to the guys that I did chat with - it is better to be connected with locals who I have met and can refer to and be referred by than people from around the globe who I am never likely to meet or come across opportunities that might interest them.
Well done to Martin or "Jacky" for organising. Robert Greig, The Office Furniture Guru at Office Team Group

Daniel Keegan

I was very impressed by the inaugural event this morning. You achieved exactly what you laid out and the conversations and discussions created were excellent. I look forward to more. Daniel Keegan, Membership Executive at Scottish Council for Development and Industry
